Unsolved Crimes

Crime Stoppers features unsolved crimes when a detective has exhausted his leads in a case and feels that information from an anonymous source would reinvigorate his investigation.

Fugitives are wanted criminal suspects who are avoiding capture, and that makes them inherently dangerous.  Call Crime Stoppers immediately if you know of their whereabouts, but take no action to contact the suspects yourself.  You can also submit a WebTip online with the link above.

8/25/2009 - Injury Road Rage Incident

Reward Offered For Road Rage Solution

A cash reward is offered for information that solves an August 14th road rage incident that sent a man and woman to an area hospital with significant injuries.

The couple was on a motorcycle south on the Newport Highway when they became involved in a dispute with the driver of a van that cut them off.  At the 7900 block of North Division, the van was stopped by other traffic and the two cyclists dismounted and approached the van.

The driver started to drive off and the male motorcyclist smashed out a window on the van with his helmet.  The couple then returned to the motorcycle, but the van backed up and over the bike, trapping the motorcycle and male driver beneath the vehicle and knocking the female down and away.

When the van reversed course and pulled away, the motorcycle and driver came free.  Detectives checked the van’s license plate after it was provided by witnesses.  It shows the registered owner to be Butch Stephen’s Organizational Church in Post Falls, Idaho, but detectives have been unable to establish whether or not the church actually exists.

The driver (suspect) had claimed to his victims that he lived in the Cheney, Washington area, but the van has not been located there either.

Anyone with information regarding this vehicular assault is urged to call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 509-327-5111, or by submitting the tip via the Crime Stoppers website, www.crimestoppersinlandnorthwest.org.
